Bent conrods
I am busy overhauling my 22R engine and have found that my no 1 and 4 conrods are bent(therefore the loss in compression) do you know if an engeneering shop will be able to straighten them(I know they straighten bent valves) Have anyone ever done this before and would you reccomend it

Re: Bent conrods
Danie, these are too critical to mess with. Replace them outright with OEM parts. The damage from con-rod failure can result in scrapping the whole sub-assembly. Not worth taking chances.

Re: Bent conrods
A bent conrods in better known as ashtray and/or beer can holder! No chance of straightening that! There are good quality aftermarket options as well, MasterParts and Alert Engine Spares sell decent parts in CT, maybe right Gemini in JHB...

Re: Bent conrods
Bel toe gister die ou by Gemini, wat my toe vertel hy het twee genuine Toyota conrods vir R699 elk(What a bargain,ek kort toevallig 2!!!
