Those Saturday Morning Jobs

Post by SYRON CONVERSIONS »

Yes we all have a time to clean up and organize our garage or workshop at home, it is funny how dust collects, tools and empty boxes collect up all over the place, yes we are also Lazy, do not put tools back in place once we have completed or we are still busy with a job, thus now and then we have to spend a Saturday sorting out and cleaning the workshop at Home.

Today the 07/070/07 we managed to sort out all the tools, hang them back on their places, found items that we had mislaid, we put the electric brand new unused "parts washer" outside under a lean to type area, this is where we also keep the portable sand blasting machine, what a wonderful piece of machinery, nice to just sand blast that piece of metal that you want to re-paint, works well on old brake shoes before we have them re-lined. We also use the sand blaster to make various designs on glass items, makes them frosted looking.

Then packed away the rims and tyres that we are not using into one of the 6m shipping containers, which are rain proof and safe, sorted out all the Hilux spares including a spare transfer case/ gearbox for a Hilux, we took all these items to Simon's house and put it in one of the 12 m shipping containers, we have one 12m high roof shipping container just for our Hilux spares.

As you can see in the various photo's we have lots of steel shelf space.

Each shelf area has it's space for Jeep, Hilux, MGTC and various spares sections, we like to keep the 5 liter cans of oil together as well as the brake spares and oil filters.

In this photo below we show we are busy pressing a High Lift Jack main bar straight, we bent it while lifting a 12 m shipping container, the photo shows a 55 ton hydraulic press, a very useful piece of equipment to have in a workshop.

Comments, what do you do on Saturday mornings at home?

Saturday Morning Jobs

Post by SYRON CONVERSIONS »

OH heck  Saturday is around the corner again and we have lots of jobs already lined up  Why do we do this to ourselves, hey when will we just have a break :?:

Anyway this Saturday we will be welding in some angle iron into some existing shelves so that we can slide some black plastic 400mm x 600mm x 80mm bins under the existing shelves to store more stuff, the more space that we have the better, like to keep the workshop nice and clean.

Then also have to find the time to sort out some water pipes on the one flat, when the cold water tap is turned on in the bathrooom this green algy looking stuff comes out, but not in the kitchen cold water, a person would think that the clorine would kill the algy, maybe it is because the one pipe is not straight and with the bow at the bottom, this is happening.

The lady who is staying in the flat is not tooo happy about the green stuff in the water, the guy who stays in the other flat next door who is also onj the same system does not have any problems.

So what jobs do you do on Saturdays :?:

On Saturday we do

Post by pietpetoors »

On Saturdays we do as little as possible. Weekends are for resting.
Enjoy fiddling with the cars on weekend. The Hilux got a polish the previous Saturday and next Saturday I will hopefully start building the Rock Sliders.
