1983 Hilux 6.3litre Chevrolet V8
Blue 1983 Hilux.Had engine mods done in 2002.We fiited a 5.7l engine but after someone dropped a screw in one cylinder we had to take it up to 6.3.Has a chev T5 gearbox and fits directly onto toyota transfer case.Ford GT 3.7 diff.Give or take develops 500+ HP and a load of torque.Hates tires and loves petrol.

the total cost was about 30 000 to 40 000 in the end to get everything sorted out,that was back in 2002.The vehicle itself hit 1 million km so we had the choice of redoing the standard engine or installing a small nuclear bomb.

it is totally worth the effort.As long as you don't care about tyres and fuel.The best is when a BMW driver can't seem to work out why a house on wheels is keeping up until you gear down and send him back in time.The vehicle tends to understeer but a dab on the throttle sorts that out quickly.

hi there you you all I have 2 toyota hilux's one of the have a 22R 2.4 petrol engine in it which i had put in place of the diesel turbo and it goes better than ever, the other hilux i am busy bebuilding and i have just fitted a 1UZFE lexus V8 quad cam motor in to it. the lexus is lighter and way more better that the chev as due to the lexus still has more low down togue
