More than likely it's already on youtube ... do a search there to find it then post the link here. Otherwise upload to youtube yourself (you have to be registered) or upload to photobucket (also need to be registered) and then post the link here.

Title incorrect. Should read "Highjacking gone RIGHT".
I feel a lot less wise at 45 than I did at 15.

Re: Hijacking gone wrong
Although we all agree that the thugs got their rightful comeuppance, I have to wonder how well the driver's actions will stand up in a court of law, (given circumstances and all), if the thugs or even the police file charges against him for reckless endangerment / attempted murder / gbh, whatever.
At the point where he engaged them with his vehicle he was no longer under threat. Had he chosen to drive off and they pursed him, that would be a different matter as it would go to show that the thugs were of no intention to disengage. The driver could then make a reasonable assumption that his life would come under threat again and take reasonable action, notwithstanding the principle of "minimum force".
Unfortunately, the laws intended to safeguard us, protect the criminals as well, and they know it.
How awesome would it be if the same laws were amended to state something along the lines of that any person who knowingly participates in illegal activity, forfeits all legal and constitutionals rights whilst doing so and whilst resisting arrest for such crime. The right to life, is also forfeited if that person's actions are threatening the life of another person.

Re: Hijacking gone wrong
Ye , the law protects the criminals also around here, and many applying the law sympathy with the criminals unfortunately.
For example if they steal my worker's bicycle the police will do everything to get it back, but if they steal 10 cows from me they will do very little about it.
So many around here would relate to the guy in the vigo's action. Hopefully he did a good job.

Re: Hijacking gone wrong
Have to agree with Andy, I reckon in a court of law the driver of the bakkie would be in biiiiiiig trouble.... Imagine the satisfaction the would be hijackers will have when the driver goes to prison for attempted murder.... Scary thought..
