Tracker in a single cab SFA hilux?

Post by Harold »

How good is a tracker in a single cab Hilux as there are not many places in/on the bakkie to conceal a unit. No point in fitting a Tracker if they can easily and quickly deactivate the system.

How effective is the unit in a rural environment, far from main roads and where there is no mobile connection?

I'd rather improvise a few DIY anti theft measures.

I second that. Also have Tracker fitted in my D/C, but they've got their ways in locating the system. Either scanners or pure knowledge. In addition, you can put in a override switch on your electric circuit, and install the switch where only you and another knows where it is located. I often tell my friends, that if they can start my bakkie, they can have it.

Harold daar is plek vir 'n goeie fitment op die S/C SFA.... Meen there and done quite a few of those Fitments.
It all depends on the installer

But i would also ad a DIY joppie...

Do the DIY thing. A friend of mine was once hi-jacked in his Golf. He had a hidden switch on the feulpump which he ALWAYS switched off (whithout anybody noticing) when getting out of car. They couldn't take the car..... Luckily he was fine as well.

There are a couple of places that you can stick the tracker unit that it's not easy to find. Inside one of the ventilation boxes is a good start or if it's properly water proof in the channel under the windscreen.

Fit a fuel cut off solenoid too.
Happy trails
