I don't believe that was an original Raider, dash is wrong - no diffloc. I think it's just had a cosmetic 'upgrade'. The grille looks like it's been replaced with a pirate one, so maybe it had a bit of a 'front-ender' .... look inside the engine bay at the radiator / front firewall for signs of bodywork. With those kilos, even in good nick, max in my book would be 70k depending on any extras. ;-)

All Raider models from '95 came standard with diff-lock, so instead of the little panel with the LED to the right of the steering column, there would have been a diff-lock switch with "activate" and "engage" signal lamps. To the right of that, the pic shows the old "coin pocket" .... I might be wrong, but I think that the '97 would already have had a flat panel with an immobiliser socket instead.

What year model is yours Cassie? And does it have the coin pocket?

We own a 1996 Raider 4x4 from new, it came with the adventure pack which included, alloy rims, yokohama super digger v tyres, rollbar, bullbar, side steps but no diffloc. diffloc was optional, think that came standard on 1998 limited models.

Tried to get hold of the dealer in Swakopmund, unfortunately no answer; but studying the pictures closely, I believe they were in fact taken in Swakop, would also explain the paint job on the diff etc.
It's not the first time I hear about such a scenario, where a car listed on a Namibian second hand car website actually appears on the South African market! The fact that the number plates had been taken off, makes it even easier to hide the scam.

Let's hope for the best!

Zubair, according to the info in my manual, all raiders with 2.4 lit 22R motors had diffloc as standard, the earlier ones that were available with 2.2lit 4Y motor did not. To the best of my recollection, this seems to have been corroborated over time by members here, but if this info is not accurate it would be interesting to know.

Has anyone else got a genuine 2.4 Raider (i.e. not cosmetically upgraded) that doesn't have a rear locker? :eh:

That's what I would have expected according to my info, Stef. What I want to know is if my info is correct, and if there is anyone that has got a genuine 2.4 Raider that doesn't have a standard rear locker. ;-)

I am glad you didn't fall into this trap! Unfortunately someone else probably will, if not through this advertisement then through another. Unbelievable how many scum bags are out there!

Good luck in finding a SFA soon!

Well, I know for sure that the bakkie is standing at the dealer in Swakopmund. But, it's worth a shot to get the bakkie delivered to you strictly on CoD basis for the price stated!! Keep us posted

Ek het 'n oorspronklike (ek glo so) SFA 2.4 (22R) 4x4 DC Raider

Volgens oorspronklike dokumentasie:
Model: RN67R-MDPNS
Beskrywing: Hilux LWB 4x4 D/cab Raider
Engine: 22R
Kleur: PT90
Trim: TR2G
Datum: 02/96

Andy,

Same here. I have a 1997 model 22R. No Diff-Lock on mine.

It would then seem like the info printed in my manual is incorrect. :eh:
