Power output is the same AFAIK.

Diesel pump differs aswell as ecu.

Prado 120 had intercooler as standard, don't know about the Prado 90.

But that brings me to my next question. Why does it seem like the prado has more power and speed? And why do they say that the prado kz-te is les prone to blowing heads?

Isn't mainly due to different branches, top mounted intercooler and different ECU?

KZTE, slightly under powered, Prado, way under powered due to weight, gearing and auto box on most.
Same engine, later models had the built in top mount cooler that wasn't very effective.
European models had the 1kd (d4d) fitted as early as 2003, but we stuck with the 1kz.

There are slight differences in power output of the same engines in different vehicles
I dont have the figures with me but just go compare the power output of the 4.0 V6 in the Hilux, cruiser pick-up and the FJ.

I think the same with the Prado.

But this is news to me, I never knew the 120 had such an old engine it. The little bit I liked the 120 is now gone.

I read a review of the new Range Rover that will be launched in SA soon.
It comes with 4 engines, a super strong diesel V8, a micky mouse diesel, a supercharged V8 and a normal V8

They decided to only bring the two top models to SA.
Although I cannot stand a Land Rover, I think that is really great of them.

It seems like in SA we always get the new models 5 years after the launch and when we get it, we get the crappy left overs of the world.

Now here is a company who is only going to send their best to SA.
Maybe Tata must also buy out Toyota so that we can get proper models in SA
