Hi everyone, I got hold of the guys at Dogtown in Midrand, its a shelter for abandoned dog's, their website is Barkingmad.co.za (I see the click to feed link is on the forum

)with the click to feed program, funny thing is the shelter in Midrand does not benefit from this program and have to buy their own food.

Recently they moved to bigger premises and need some help.

First of all, I would like to setup a day (1 October 2011)where we can go out and give a hand, they have an open area that needs to be cleared for play area and Laina from Dogtown wants to do a Memorial Garden in the same area. I will add the "wish list at the bottom"

If we can start a list of people who will join us, everyone welcome, the kids can play with some of the doggies while the guys get dirty.

Secondly, for everyone who will not be able to join, please go through the wishlist and let me know what you might have available to us.
To make this day a success we could do with a TLB for the day and a sponsor on rubble removal.

For everyone joining and not joining sponsor a bag of food

(Montego is the preferred brand). I will post details of a supplier.

And the wish list, its a big one but every bit will help.

I will see what I can do with coming through to help. maybe bring a colleague and ask one of my frineds who sell small earthmoving machines (Wayne look up k9 diggers on the web and see if it will work instead of a Tlb if so I will talk to Dean and convince him to bring the machine through) if we can get one for the day

Hi Robert that will be excellent! the area we want to clear is not to big, a TLB would probably run though it in one run. So I'm sure it will work just fine!

no news on a TLB from my side - however, have found a bunch in potch who can supply me with 100kgs of cow hooves, is this enough Wayne or must I buy more?

Wayne, how many dogs are there, and what sizes? the hooves are lekka- but the cow hide bones are also dirt cheap and come in three sizes. I just need to get an idead if theres more ankle snappers, or more great danes...

Apparently the bones last longer than the hooves (and taste better...)

Mini bones 100/bag 112.50
Small bones 50/bag 200.00
Medium bones 22/bag 218.70
Large bones 15/bag 232.20
Extra lrge bones 8/bag 361.80

Abovementioned chewies are made from dried cattle skin

Hooves 100/bag 81.25

The auntie delivers in K'dorp next wednesday, from there we can make a plan - let me know so I can place my order

ok they have 78 dogs at the moment, large breed and small breed, dogs of all breeds even x breed. Some of them resembles JM.... say no more hahah

my Sister in joburg has a dog airline transport crate that she wants to donate if someone is willing to pick it up, shes near the coca cola dome

I should have 300 cow hooves in my possession by tomorrow 17h30, in Noordhewuel, Woes Rand. Please let me know how to get these to you - perhaps sometime on Friday ??
