Re: Made me some rocksliders.
Simon do you take orders?
Just one question.I think the standard running boards acts like a mud flap for the front wheels.Protects the body from stones jumping up. Are you going to add something else or should this be OK.
Maybe Piet can give his experience.

Nice Job, im looking into something similar.
Got a quote from Toyota last week for the front mud flaps and they only R75 each, may be worth putting on to stop sandblasting your paintwork.

Re: Made me some rocksliders.
Hi Simon.
Is your brackets on the driver side the same?
I am busy with my sliders but on my drivers side there is brake pipes on the chassis rail and at the back is the fuel tank wich is very close to the chassis rail. I cant see how the brackets will work on the drivers side.
I would really appreciated pics of the drivers side

Re: Made me some rocksliders.
George, the brake and fuel line issue is easy to overcome. Either one shifts them to the top of the chassis rail out of harms way or you fit spacers to the inner mounting plate which leaves a gap for the pipes.
The small clearance at the tank can be a little awkward, but it still works fine. You could tack-weld the nuts in position on the inner plate and cut the bolts down to size so that they don't reach the tank. Alternatively you could weld the bolts to the inner plate like studs (alignment is more critical) and then put it over the rail before the tank and slide it down between the tank to it's position.
Not difficult.

Re: Made me some rocksliders.
George I dont get time to take pictures and the ones I took last night is no good. The brackets slide in behind the brake pipes. There is enough space between the brake pipes and chassis for the flat bar. Mine has 50x5 (or 6mm) flatbar for the part that goes around the chassis

George
My brackets is beide kante dieselfde. Het die bracket tussen die pype en chassis deurgevat. Gat af gesukkel om die nuts vas te maak, maar baie geduld gebruik :-)

Re: Made me some rocksliders.
TIP: EK dink die bestuurderkant agter is baie moeilik om die nut in te sit, by myne is die nut aan die bopunt van die bracket vasgesweis, maak dit bietjie makliker.
