Hi all, I'm looking for objective views of what the following vehicle is worth in today's private market - I'm obviously not interested in dealer retail/book values!
1999 Toyota Hilux 2700 4x4 Raider s/cab with colour coded Beekman canopy. (The vehicle's colour is light blue glacier metallic). Genuine mileage is 122000 kms, it has a full Toyota agent service history and has never been off road! - the bakkie is in near mint condition. It boasts a std bullbar, Hella square spotlights fitted to a standard black nudge bar, std towbar, orginal Panasonic radio/casette deck, rubberised bin without a single dent. Std rear sliding window in both the cab and canopy. Std Toyota (factory fitted) gearlock. 5 brand new AT tires on Std Raider alloy rims and new exhaust. It also has a some stabilizer aftermarket stabilizer bar fitted on top of its rear differential (not sure what this does/improve) It obviously comes std with A/C and std diff lock. You views will be greatly appreciated

Re: What is it worth?
Hi Shane,
Around 3 yeas ago I was offered the exact same vehicle, even the same colour with 128 000km for R95 000. Unfortunately the deal did not materialize but I know the guy later sold it to a dealer for R110k, whom in turn put it on his floor for R199k! I don't know at which price it was finally sold.

Thanks Thabo, interesting and simply amazing how well these vehicles keep its value. Thanks a lot for your response. I've notice that Toyota is now the no 1 vehicle brand in the USA. it seems the 3rz engined vehicles are thirsty but virtually indestructible.

Re: What is it worth?
about 10 yrs ago i sold mine for R95K... over 200K om the clock.
bought it for R85K
today you struggle to find decent one for R95K.
where in the world is a vehicle an appreciating asset.
lekka if you wanting to sell... terrible if you looking to buy
but i do think it's a consequence of the ridiculous prices of the new bakkies. you can buy a house for the price of a bakkie. At this rate, i would have to downgrade to a GWM bakkie to afford a newer model.

Rather drive a 2nd hand Hilux than a new GWM

Re: What is it worth?
Piet, tks yes, I've seen it on the forum somewhere. I think it was posted by 3RZ some time ago, - very interesting. Mine is definitely the 8 port and I must admit it is really not that heavy on fuel! that is if one drive it conservatively though!pietpetoors wrote: ↑Mon Nov 29, 2021 9:57 am Rather drive a 2nd hand Hilux than a new GWM
