Re: working on oil rigs
I've been working onshore and offshore on Oil Rigs for the last ten years. I'm sorry to say but with the low oil price and all the trouble in the middle east at the moment, there are allot of oil companies cold stacking offshore rigs and almost all af them are laying off thousands of people all over the world.
You can try contacting International Consulting Management Ltd. based in Cape Town. Sorry dont have there email address.
Hope you get sorted.

Re: working on oil rigs
As a start I would suggest getting your offshore tickets ready. This would include but not be limited to: HUET and offshore survival (BOSIET) offshore medical. Depending on where you want to work that would be UKOOA or NMD medical. MIST would also open more doors for you. As previous guys have posted, until the oil price goes up, there is limited activity. Never seen the North Sea so quite in my 10 years at sea.
