Re: Hilux 4x4 VHF Channel?
So just so that 'old blondie' gets it right, does that mean we "may" have an additional channel purely used by the hilux club, or is it one of the existing channels that is already programmed into my radio's?

Re: Hilux 4x4 VHF Channel?
Hopefully yes.... different frequency to what ORRA has but we could also be given the same frequency.. but then we don't need the ORRA license for that frequency anymoreGI Jane wrote:So just so that 'old blondie' gets it right, does that mean we "may" have an additional channel purely used by the hilux club, or is it one of the existing channels that is already programmed into my radio's?

I would have preferred them to be slightly more positive - "To give this matter further attention" might also mean they could say "according to subsection C of the Telecommunications Act of blah blah blah, we regret to inform you that...".

Great.

Methinks this might be a reason for celebrating. Let me give it some thought and I will see if we can run some "specials" on radios for a few days, after we receive the frequency. Watch this space!

Re: Hilux 4x4 VHF Channel?
Well done Cassie

Hopefully your special will be not on radios only. What about the accessaries (Arials etc)

Re: Hilux 4x4 VHF Channel?
Good point Dawie. We try to keep the forum price list as competitive as possible but strong enough to avoid updates every week, which are time consuming. But with the improvement of the Rand lately - bearing in mind that all stock has already been purchased on forward cover which is not cheap - I want to use the same price list but offer an overall discount on goods wherever possible, including antennas & chargers.
For anyone to purchase radios, they will have to be valid members of the Hilux Club, which, at R100 per year, is an absolute bargain. Programming of the radios on the ORRA frequencies (ORRA licence required, but that is easy enough) as well as the new Club frequency. Cassie & I will discuss this as soon as we receive the licence.

Sure someone like Joe Bergh will be able to help, not true? Only thing is that he lives in Paarl now... not around the corner anymore
