300h&h hunting rifle

I know it is off topic and probably not the place but I thought I will try my luck.

I have a 300h&h rifle. My license was stolen and I am now waiting for my duplicate card, applied last week. The receipt is proof that the rifle belongs to me and that I am allowed to use it as it is licensed to me.... Problem is I can not buy ammo with the receipt..... And I have a hunting trip coming up soon.

Does anyone perhaps know of someone who is willing to sell me some of theirs?

Yep, illegal request. If anyone assists they become accessories to the crime. The Forum owners and administrators accept no responsibility should someone assist you in this way.

You could go back to the police where you reported the stolen licence and explain your predicament as a motivation for a temporary licence or at least a verification that the weapon is licensed to you with the licence no. so that you can buy ammo.

Anycase, you can buy with the receipt. Trust me. I have been a trainer since 2005 and have worked closely with this law for the past 9 years.

Will have a look in the safe.

His not dealing in munitions oom Andy, his just buying and giving it to Cobus.

Ons stry nou oor die legal-geit van een vriend wat n ander nie mag help met jag-ammo nie terwyl mense met aansien en geld iemand anders deur n toe deur sonder n waarskuwing skoot mag doodskiet en meer as n jaar nog tussen ons rondloop??

Andy you are correct. It is illegal

However we all know life isn't just black & white.

You may not sell ammo @ replacement cost but you may give someone ammo? :|

Not being able to hunt because our system is too slow/inadequate isn't really fair either.

Either way - I hope you get sorted.

Would have helped you if I could but not my caliber.

I work with fire-arm licensing, when I am at work.
There is no law that says you may not give ammo away to a licensed person of the same caliber.
That person that receives the ammo may give a "gesture" in return if he feels like it. wink wink.

BUT, you may NOT sell ammo

Thanks guys. I contacted the local shop and they said that they can help me if I have my receipt and id, so I am sorted.

It would however have been nice to exchange donations ;)
