Dakar Ford Ranger testing in Namibia

I know I'm gonna get shot for this , but I thought I'd share these pics of another South African built Dakar vehicle. These were taken while testing in Namibia close to Walvis Bay in the concession area run by West Coast 4x4.

Looks quite nice, runs the 5l V8.

There are two vehicles running - 1 with RSA team of Chris Visser and co-driver Japie Badenhorst / 2nd with Argentinian driver Lucio Alvarez.

Still think the Hilux is prettier, better, faster, has the best driver, ........ ( now that was a good save )

Have to agree.. the Hilux looks much better and at home in the sand

Kyk ek is baie lief vir my Hilux, maar ek het groot geword in n Ford. Daar was nie n Ford wat my pa nie gery het nie. En nie een van hulle het ooit probleme gegee nie.

Ek het ook blou bloed in my are, ek het hulle ook gery toe ek nog werk gesoek het, maar gelukkig word mens groot.

Funky snorkel. Hoop hulle kom 4e in Dakar. Geniel en kie 1,2,3.
Smaak my Ford laaik scoops en intakes kwaai - die ding het amper net soveel van die goed as die destydse rally group B monster, die RS200...

Daai scoops en intakes is om die radiator met lug te voorsien omdat dit agter sit die selvde as die toyota. Ek was in die skool saam met Niel Woolridge en was groot pelle. Ek dink hy doen n gooie job op die Fords en SA kan trots wees op hom.
