Has anyone looked at the weather forecast for that area for the weekend.... After the wonderful weather the last few days, need to know whether to pack a blow up boat and oars....

Re: GTG 25 Feb 2012 Gauteng - Ribbokkloof 4x4
Hi Heinrich & Ribbokkloof manne.
Iets is beslis fout.
Groete.

Re: GTG 25 Feb 2012 Gauteng - Ribbokkloof 4x4
I'm back at my temp Joburg home. Was really sorry to have to leave this morning, but don't want to risk missing my flight back to The Townie Cape Town.... No trail report, my son forbade me to attempt it in is 4x2 Fortuner so I obliged him... But my trip report... sorry no photo's, no camera, no space in my luggage for that as well..
So met up with Mark, Danelle and Kiara on a highway, under a bridge, somewhere near Pretoria and followed them to our destination... Hey, very unimpressive landscape, all the way there, but at least I had lots of good music and looked at the rear of Mark's Hilux until we arrived. Met another lot of amazing Hilux extended family and we had a lovely braai together... Thanks guys and girls for such a wonderful welcome and making me feel at home away from home... Must say if the landscape was unimpressive the night sky was really impressive. Have'nt seen that many stars in the Milky Way in quite a while. (maybe it was Kokerboomkloof) Felt the excitement I always have before a trail the next morning as the guys started deflating tyres and starting up their vehicles..... was soooooo sorry not to be doing the trail with them... but such is life.. had a leisurely breakfast with those not on the trail and left for the arduous trip home... 3 hrs to get home... a really long drive for a night, but was really well worth it to get to meet the extended family... Just before Middelburg a bee flew in through the open window and stung me on my shoulder blade... Ouch that was sore... stopped in Middelburg at a garage and asked a kind lady to remove the sting, and then carried on my merry way back to Joburg...
Thanks to the organizers for the GTG and all you awesome Hilux people for the lekker geselskap.....

Sien julle weer volgende keer!!!!!

When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.
Life is like a jar of Jalapeño peppers ... what you do today, might burn your ass tomorrow.
Don't take life too seriously ..... no-one gets out alive.
It's not about waiting for storms to pass. It's about learning to dance in the rain.
