Craig, yes agree. Hopefully Trevor will get the ball rolling.
On the volts, no, I've read people changes wires on those panels, and I am just wondering if they connect it correctly.
As the sqf can take from 30 to 300 Volt DC, but Grundfos recommend 150V dc for efficiency....... It can even run on 230 AC volts.

A very good suggestion and observation / recce will also help putting together the "wish" list and break the ice with the Parks Board?Mountain Man wrote:Therefore before going t the park with a truck load of equipment one really needs to do a recci to see what is required and based on that, return with tools, equipment and manpower prepared to tackle sepcific tasks/projects.

Re: Khaudum Nasionale Park(Nam) Hilux event
I spent 3 days in Dec there, all pumps seems to be solar, or least those that I saw, and by the looks it seems to be Grundfos. I saw one installation not working, pump not there and some cells gone, and a least 2 pumps that's on their way out, very noisy, with lower production.
I was not at all waterholes, but there could be about 15 of them.

Hi Johan
[/quote
Lyk asof daar iets gebeur. Elaine is van Tsumkwe Lodge] Trevor, volg maar op om seker te maak .

Let’s suggest preferred dates and also an alternative date and see where that takes us - lets close the dates thing by the end of next week and then we have the peg in the ground.

Re: Khaudum Nasionale Park(Nam) Hilux event
I don't know if it has been mentioned already, but there is an article in the February 2012 SA4X4 on Khaudum.
It pretty much says what has already been discussed here. On Page 41, centre column the writer says they never encountered any soft sand between Sikareti Camp and Khaudum Camp. Please remember that although that may be so, there are a number of roads between the 2 camps and therefore depending on the road taken will depend if soft sand/mud is encountered. We encounterd sections of soft sand and hard twee spoor. But one needs to be prepared for the worst. What the writer was 100% about was the skittishness of the wildlife. I think I may have mentioned it in my earlier posts in this same thread. The last paragraph on page 42 mentions that it took them almost 3 hours to do the 56Km from Khaudum Camp to the main road. This is also pretty much in line with what I think I wrote in my earlier thread.

Just because it says "4WD" doesn't make it an off-road vehicle.
