Hilux 2.7vvti Brakes

Post by dhurwitz »

Hi All

I am hoping for some advice and guidance...

My 2005 2.7 Hilux Double Cab (newish shape) is giving me some issues with the brakes squeaking. I have done 130000km. I would like to look at replacing the brakes entirely.

If anyone has replaced their brakes it would be appreciated if you could provide me with feedback on which brand / model you went with and if you are happy with them?

Thanks!

Thanks Sebata!

Did you just change the pads?

I am not the most technical, but apparently the actual disks are glazed and will need to be skimmed, which I do not like the sound of, so I am looking at replacing the whole brake system.

Regards,

Sebata your truck's disks are still fine just the pads that we'll be replacing
Does it shudder when you apply brakes?

Hi Donkey

It does not shudder at all and feels fine... I just took my car in for a service and apparently the pads are at about 30% left in the front, which is where the noise is from.

Sebata: are you happy with the Feroda Platinums?

Thanks for the input!

Ferrodo is probably the best you can buy I also only use ferrodo, used them way before they chaged to platinum was asbestos previously that made minimal brake dust but they only make platinum nowadays have never used any other brand of brakes.
