Ok guys, I have just driven the trail, awesome, bit of something for everyone....not dissimilar to Scheppie Saus, so Voorhoede it is. Last Weekend Nov, and first Weekend at the moment are still open. I will upload some pics tomorrow morning.

you will be fine, its not a hectic trail, its a slow trail actually due to the twists and turns, tight tree canopy sections, water obstacles, there are some huge gullys along sections of the trail which have to be negotiated carefully, this is due to the previous bout of rains we had. The last top section to the View point is very very loose, it took me 4 attempts to get up it, and I dropped my tyres down again to 0.6 bar, most of the obstacles I avoided (especially water) as I was on my own, also in the play area towards the end of the trail there is a lekker mud pit which I was most certaintly not going to attempt on my own....

!!! The trail is steep in sections, most of the track is very rocky but its solid rock and not loose marble like on Tierskloof and Scheppie Saus.

But overall a very scenic drive, if there are about 15 vehicles then its going to be about a 4 hour round trip, depending on picture stops, people getting stuck etc. I have organised a little surprise for everyone once we get to the top of the viewpoint. To be honest I think that once the first 4 vehicles have gone up this last section its going to become very difficult to get up unless you have diff lock, but its only about a 100 meter section so guys can just walk this last piece to the top as the view from there is fantastic, I could see as far over to False bay from the back of the mountain, from the front of the mountain the valley spreads out beautifully with a great aerial equivalent shot of Caledon, so a decent camera will be a must....but I do know that the owner Albert is busy working on this section so it might be more manageable over out weekend so lets see.

On a seperate note I am getting prices for a Spitbraai for the Saturday night as my previous plan cannot work as the guys have other plans for that weekend.

Guys, its not a hectic trail, maybe I was just a bit too descriptive...its a really nice drive....just with the rains recently its changed abit...really really nothing to worry about.....

Hi everyone,

OK further to the date for the Year end function and looking at the majority requests I have now booked the venue for

FRIDAY 2ND DECEMBER
SATURDAY 3RD DECEMBER
SUNDAY 04TH DECEMBER.

Please add or remove your names as applicable if you are unable to make it....I am sorry that I cannot accommodate everyone but I have to make the booking confirmed at the campsite.

Bank details for deposits will be posted shortly. Camp fees (60 PPN) are to be paid up front and the vehicle fees can be paid to me on the day for payment to owners. When making deposits please quote HILUXCLUB and your NAME

I will shortly be posting costs for a spitbraai/salads/rolls etc for the saturday night.

Hi everyone, further to payments, going forward all monies will be required to be paid into the Hilux club account, then we can do one EFT for all.

I will give it another week or so and then update the names list with who owes what etc. Then on payment please just use your name as club username as ref.

Ok I have secured a booking for a Lamb spitbraai, professional setup, everthing done for us, prepared, braai, cut, kept warm and then cleaned up for us. There will be 2 different salads and bread rolls. I am to have this ready at approx 1900 hours. Cost per person is R100 per head and I need 30 people please to make it viable. PLEASE double confirm with a big YES after your line number.

So going forward, please make payments into the Hilux account ASAP as I need to secure this booking as its a busy time of year for him. Ref you will need is YEWCF and your name, Camp fees are R60 ppn so as an example for myself it will be the following
Stuart + Erika 2 nights camping R240
Saturday night spit x 2 R200
Trail fees R270
TOTAL R710

Please let me know when you have made deposits so that I can keep track.

I hear what you are saying, at the end of the day the Spit braai is R2650 (this covers 40 people) which me must all cover between us, and then I got the salads/breads for R15 a head. We can do a subsidized rate for under 12's but then if we are short we will have to make up as a group if that makes any sense. The spit braai is one whole lamb, transportation to and from Stanford (Hennies pub and grill) to voorhoede etc which is a R120 kilo round trip. So to Hennie who does the spit its irrespective of how many people eat the fee is the same !!

This weekend will be the start of my December holiday Namibia trip so it might not be a good idea to start with a trial.
What is this 4x4 trial like, if rough I'll give it a skip and rather be co-pilot for someone.

Please let me know before I make payment and remove my name for the trial paymnet.
