Pretoria se naam is ná 154 jaar amptelik iets van die verlede.

Dit het gister aan die lig gekom Lulu Xingwana, minister van kuns en kultuur, het Tshwane stil-stil in die Staatskoerant as ’n stad afgekondig.

Dit beteken Pretoria se naam het sonder ’n kosteberaming of openbare deelnameproses in die slag gebly.

Dié Staatskoerant is Vrydag gepubliseer. Tshwane se nuwe status as geografiese pleknaam verskyn saam met die nuwe name van 28 dorpe, berge, riviere en nedersettings.

Dit kom nadat Xingwana se adjunk, Paul Mashatile, verlede week op die nippertjie ’n mediakonferensie waar hy nuwe plekname sou aankondig, afgestel het.

Xingwana se kantoor het vroeër gesê: “Die regulering van geografiese plekname in ’n demokratiese Suid-Afrika is deel van ’n proses om die marginalisering van inheemse tale, kulture en erfenis reg te stel.”

’n Bron in die party het vertroulik onthul die ANC wil hê Pretoria se naam moet geskiedenis wees wanneer die Wêreldbeker-sokkertoernooi in Junie afskop.

Ja die Bobejane van Bobejaanmetro council weet nie hoe om die water in die reservoirs "gesond" te hou nou overdoze hulle ons op chloor, moes al lankal 'n Reverse Osmosis Unit insit vir drinkwater.

EK wonder nou, aangesien Afrikaans 'n amptelike taal is wat sal gebeur as ek my volgende tjek aan die council uitmaak aan Stad van Baie Bobajane inplaas van City of Tshwane? Ek wonder juis of ons burgermeester is nie dalk die grootste bobejaan van almal is nie :confused: :confused:
