I will have a look under the bonnet but I paid extra when I bought the vehicle to have the cables fixed because it was one of the faults listed in the add when I bought it

Central considering most people are either in Cape Town or Joburg.
Prices seem good to for those of us without deep pockets.

Did you have the engine running and the vehicle moving forward somewhat after engaging the difflock before you tested it? Remember the difflock is engaged via engine vacuum and some movement of the wheels may be required for the mechanism to lock into place. Eish!! :? I reversed about 30m in my yar...

I gave it a try and it appears s if it's not working
With diff lock off I rotated one wheel and the other didn't move much at all, sometimes just a little in the opposite direction.
With diff lock on I rotated one wheel and the other just did nothing :x

I think my diff lock is a gear max, as far as I know it came standard on the vehicle (2.4l 97 Hilux Raider 4x4 D/c)

I personally think its a bad idea to have carpets inside a 4x4. Ive always liked the idea of rubber instead of carpets like inside the cruiser. Because I am a new Hilux owner :D Im not sure if this is normal?
If my front wheels are locked and I am driving on tar there seems to be allot of vibration into the dash, especially when going speeds of around 100kmh.
When the wheels are unlocked all seems fine.
Anybody know why this is???
