Re: SHELL OR SASOL
I have found that on my Diesel and Petrol I get easy up to 10% and more km/L on Sasol then any other product, I plan my refills around Sasol garages in Guateng.
The only other product that also gives me more is Total, Shell and BP gives me the worst km/L.
And with V6 I need any 50km more I can get, although I did not buy the V6 for its great Petrol usage.

Re: SHELL OR SASOL
i can certainly vouch for Sasol's fuel economy - got 11km/l on Sasol on my KZTE with mixed town and highway driving (did not push it over 120km/h - with all the cops and roadworks!)

I find my old donkie (3.0D) is more responsive when using Shell diesel. The previous 2.8D did the same.

Re: SHELL OR SASOL
Total Total Total
( 1ste Site 0.05% Diesel )
( 2de Site Diesel 0.005% low sulphur )

Re: SHELL OR SASOL

Lees bietjie hier: http://www.aa.co.za/home/press_room/ite ... rship.aspx

Re: SHELL OR SASOL

Re: SHELL OR SASOL
Spartan... us Kaapies do have Sasol... I have heard that the majority of raw fuel in SA comes from a single source(imported), except Mosgas and Sasol... and then the oil companies add there own additives and sell it under there brand name... Shell... Total... BP... Engen... Zenex... Caltex... etc... can one someone here confirm this?

Re: SHELL OR SASOL
Any low-sulphur product will do
The ones comming from Sasols Secunda plant is the best quality you can get as this is produced from coal. The only problem is the ones in Gauteng come from the Natref plant which is a joined venture between Sasol and TotalFinaElf.
So if you are in the Secunda area you automatically get low sulpher :)

Re: SHELL OR SASOL
A buddy of mine is a Chem Eng at Engen's Plant. They test petrol all the time (all brands) and he has found Engen LRP (the red hose) to be higher in octane than any of the other brand's lead replacement product.
So on my petrol Landy I use Engen's red hose to fill.
I filled my KZ-TE for the 1st time since I got it yesterday and used Shell V Power diesel as Sasol is too far away to be practicle (this is not Gauteng).
But I agree pay the extra for the lowest sulfur - worth it.
