Decided I had had enough of sukkeling with space for radio's and stuff you don't want other people to spot easily, so.... decided the space overhead between and above the front seats is dead space anyhow... So I set the following requirements to myself:
1. It has to be light (as in lig!),
2. It has to be strong,
3. It must be easy to make and a one piece, preferably no fiberglass!
4. It has to bolt to the roof without any mods,
5. It must be long enough to carry a lot of "stuff",
6. It must contain a radio, white and red LED lights, USB charge ports and 12V lighter ports (stupid really!)
So after a week of to and thro, here goes!

Looks good! How did you attach it to the roof?

Re: Overhead console
Actually, quite easy! Unscrew the front roof light and you have the a pre-drilled base-plate, There you add studs, then remove the rear roof light, here you cut a plate that will span the roof support bracket, weld two studs to that and screw it onto the roof-light bracket.
The box, in turn, gets two brackets, one front and the other at the back with holes to match the studs, the box is then simply bolted to the roof.
I will take a couple of pics tomorrow as the box must come off for wiring and finishing.
