Gas struts to be fitted underneath bonnet
I have a Hilux d/cab, Vigo, 2011. I was told that you can fit gas struds to keep the bonnet open.
Anybody out there that has done this or point me in the right direction?
(for easier opening when connecting solar panels and to hold onto bonnet in Cape South easter)

Not sure that I'd trust them in a strong wind, even with sturdy mounting brackets.
But I don't see why you shouldn't be able to fit them, you just need to get the right length and gas pressure, then when positioning them to make sure that they don't foul against anything as well as that the bonnet will be able to close and to open fully enough that you can still hook up the bonnet stay if you need to (like in windy conditions).

You can get from Midas, they carry a full range of Gabriel gas-rider struts, push or pull, varied lengths and strengths. Not expensive.

[R533.07 26% OFF]3PCS Front Bonnet+Tail Gate Gas Lift Support Strut Bar For Toyota Hilux Vigo SR5 2005-2014 Auto Parts from Automobiles & Motorcycles on banggood

I bought this for the tail gate shock. I was worried about the tailgate dropping on my 5 year son old head. The kit also came with the bonnet struts.
Works perfectly.
Only issue was I had to move my alarm siren as the security guard plate was in the way of the one strut

Re: Gas struts to be fitted underneath bonnet
If you buy on Bangood with the Tax Free shipping you wount have any issues
Buffalo is pretty good with delivery
Plus the tailgate shock adds way more than the bonnet shocks
If you open your bonnet more than the tail gate you must be driving a Ford
