Daar word daagliks meer "Copper" gesteel as "Alu".

Radiator on my previous bakkie was an aftermarket alumimium unit. When it broke i replaced with Bhaer (spelling?) original copper radiator.

Do yourself a favour and talk to the guys that install and service radiators for a living - e.g. Silverton radiators - before deciding.

George ek het my 4 core coper radiator uitgehaal en n KZ radiator ingesit. dit is n helse verbetering. die egt gauge loop baie laer. as ek teen n opdraande uitgery het met die ou radiator het die egt gebly klim. nou, bly die egt gauge konstant. as ek teen 2500 revs teen n opdraande ry, tel hy op tot n sekere grade en dan bly dit daar. ek het in die om en by R1200 by silverton radiators hier by ons betaal

Alu will dissipate the heat a little more effectively than copper, I.E. the alu is more efficient. IRO the cost, copper is almost twice the price but will perhaps last almost twice as long, so the long term cost is almost the same if you don't have to pay for installation and do it yourself. I would rather go for two alu units over the period of a single copper unit because of the improved efficiency. ;-)

Aluminum radiators with the plastic side tanks
This leaves the plastic side tanks as the weakest link

One can get custom aluminum radiators where the side/top tanks are also aluminum and have been welded on

One can also get the plastic tanks replaced with aluminum tanks and welded in place

Now you have all the options :laugh2:
