Hi Lourens, I don't know if this may help but my wife had the same problem with her Corolla. We went to Dikhololo for a weekend and we had an ant infestation and somehow the ants found a way into the car and into the window switches. We sprayed the car with doom and cleaned the car but some of the ants died in the switches. This in turn made that the switches made no contact when pressed. Opened the switches and cleaned them out and put them back in. Everything was fine again.

According to my knowledge if everything was working fine before and suddenly does not work then begin with the easiest first. Switches. I would suggest removing a switch which is working and replace with one of the ones that don’t work (plug should be the same) and if that works then you know it’s the switch. If still does not work then all it could be is electrical. A wire might be broken or something but if both back don’t work then might just be switches. Switches wear out over the years and some have a grease like substance inside to prevent short circuits etc and some of this could come in between the contacts so there is no contact. Suggestion is if you are comfortable with opening a switch (a lot of small parts so be careful) then just open it and clean the contacts.

I had the same issue with my passenger front door. The window wound up but not down.

I opened up the switch and in there are 2 little "plates". One of them wasnt making contact anymore.

I placed them in their correct positions and after that the window wound up and down again.

Lourens my KZ het dieselfde gedoen.

Guys I had the same problem .Its a very simple and common problem with the Hiluxes. I have put some pictures on the other 4x4 forum . What it basically is . Where your petrol/diesel pedal sits right above it you have to strip what ever you can .

There is a while relay box what ever they call it. All central locking and windows gets controlled via relays from that box "Unit" . What I find is the culprit is your A/C it makes condensate which drips onto this unit.Mine was rusted (Green Copper rust) I took it out clean it sparay Q 20 and walla all my problems gone. A typical thing that happens is you main lights come on by itself also that unit.

Good Luck
Everything keeps going right Toyota
