Re: Radio toets
Can anyone comment whether the electronic components are more resilient to vibration and shocks when warm or cold?

Re: Radio toets
All being well, the radio can certainly be left on permanently, it will never heat up enough to damage components, assuming the radio is in good order and the 12v voltage feed and antenna are correct. That being so, there will be no problems with vibration and/or shock.
Having said this, a portable radio should not be left on the dashboard in a locked car standing in blazing sunlight, temperatures do get rather extreme in this case. Still not hot enough to melt solder but the radio is not designed for prolonged storage in an oven.
Most portable radios are designed for a wide range of temperatures, the Kirisun DP405 VHF Portable radio for example is designed for operation between -30° - 60°C, which is actually a very wide temperature range, far better than its human operator would be able to cope with!

Hi Ehan
Find out who has a radio close to you, get their number, contact them and meetup with them when you want to test it.
Vrieskoei (aka Paul) stays in Henly and frequently visits Alberton. I am also in Alberton about twice a month. I use to stay there and my family lives there.
If you want to we can meetup and test it for you?
Jacques
