Hi guys,
I would like to know if anybody has relocated their if there is anybody that has relocated the winch solenoid switch away from the box that is supplied in standard form.
I have a warn M8000 and the factory winch plate has the exact location holes as the ones that is holding the remote switch point in the box.
So can anyone telll me if it can be done without having to redo everything inside or should I just shelve the idea and live with the discomfort of not having the point easily available.

Re: Winch solenoid switch relocation
Just extend the socket loom & relocate the socket or buy a plug & socket and make up an ext lead that just plugs into the socket on the box.
The Warn manual has a wiring diagram, if memory serves it's just a 3 wire loom.
Take it a step further...hook up a wireless controller

Re: Winch solenoid switch relocation
What we did on my dads cruiser was to mount the controller behind the grill/bumper and then wire a 3 way switch like the old cars aerial up and down to it, now he can control the winch from the drivers position.
If you get an old toyota switch it will look factory too

H i there Johan. I moved the control plug from the factory fitted position to a new position on the top of my bull bar.I simply extended the wires.I also connected another set of wires in parallel to the existing conrol wires and installed another switch in side the vehicle to be able to winch from the drives seat. This switch is spring loaded.
