Hilux sfa general questions
Goeie naand almal my naam is Kobus en ek is nuut op die forum. Ek het onlangs my eerste 1989 hilux sfa gekoop. Ek weet nie veel van hierdie hiluxe nie en hoop iemand kan my bietjie meer vertel oor hulle.
Ek het die bakkie gekoop met n 3lt ford v6 in maar is tans besig om die oorsprongklike 4y in te sit.
Ek wil graag uitvind of hulle standaard met n rear diff lock uitkom?

Diff Lock was nie 'n standaard opsie op daai model nie. Die 3lit V6 Ford enjin was 'n populêre ombouing in daardie jare - meer krag teen min of meer dieselfde brandstof verbruik. Hoekom wil jy 'n 4Y terug sit?

Dankie, die ford engine is nie meer so goed soos hy moet wees nie en ek verstaan dis n baie ou model. Ek het die oorsprongklike 4y saam met die bakkie gekry. So my groot rede is eintlik betroubaarheid.

Welkom op die forum Kobus.Die import modelle 1987,1988,1989 het nie met diff locks uitgekom nie. Hulle side shafts is dikker as die met diff locks en is derhalwe ook sterker.
Dit is n goeie besluit van jou om die 4y te wil terug sit. Jy verhoog jou bakkie se herverkoop waarde aansienlik met sy oorspronklike engine in.
Iets wat jy later kan oorweeg is om n EFI (brandstof inspuiting) ombouing te doen wat beslis die moeite werd is.Jy het meer krag met min of meer dieelfde brandstof verbruik as met die standard vergasser.
Geniet die werk aan jou bakkie.

Verstaan. In die geval maak dit dan sin, asook in terme van verkoop waarde soos Dawie gesê het. 4Y onderdele is nog maklik verkrygbaar alhoewel dit nou miskien meestens 'pirate' parte is.

Goeie naand almal. Ek het nou redelik virdering gemaak met my hilux projek. Ek het uiteindelik die 4y terug. Sal iemand my dalk se watter grootte boute ek nodig het om die bellhousing op die block vas te maak, die vorige bellhousing wat vir n 3l ford gemaak is om op n 4y ratkas te pas se boute pas nie, dit lyk ook of die boute verskillende lengtes kan wees. Enige advies sal waardeer word

Hello almal. Ek wil uitvind of ek 32" bande op n standaard sfa kan sit of is daar modifikasies nodig. Ek het al n paar onderwerpe oor die 33" gesien dat mens die diff vorentoe moet skuif, is dit dieselfde met 32" ?

Dir 4Y enjin gaan sukkel om 33" en self 32" bande te draai op die oop pad. Met albei sal jy die vooras ook moet skuif. Beste band groote vir standaard SFA is 31". Niks modifikasies nodig en die speedo is ook meer akuraat.

Kobus found the 4Y to be a real dog as suggested efi it and then it is a lot better I personally would have rebuilt the ford V6 suggest keep it until you have done a few trips.I am running KZTE in mine at moment.

Ek het ook al daai gedoen, jy sal nog wegkom met die 32"s sonder dat hulle krap... nie met 33"s nie... Die 4Y sal hulle draai, net nie baie vinnig nie.

Daai SFA se tank haal baie maklik uit. Drein hom leeg en haal hom uit en dan maak jy hom skoon, bestel sommer nuwe rubber seels vir die sender unit en dan sit jy hom terug. Saterdag werkie dan is alles gedoen en dit kos nie geld nie. As hy geroes is binne sal ek voorstel jy kry n ander tank. Maar tot daarso is dit alles eenvoudige DIY werkie.

Dankie almal, ek het die tenk uitgehaal en 'n ketting ingesit en hom bietjie geskud om die ergste vuilis uit te kry en met water uitgespoel maar hy is nog nie skoon nie. Kan iemand dalk 'n chemikalieë aanbeveel wat ek kan gebruik. Silverton radiators in krugersdorp vra al R550 om dit te flush maar die laaste keer het ek slegte diens gekry en wil hulle nie weer gebruik nie.

Those are just under 32" in diameter and are about 1½ inch higher in profile than what was fitted OEM to the split rims. That's almost an inch less tolerance. I think they will foul against the rear of the wheel well on sharp turns unless you have done an axle shift or have raised the suspension.
