Decision made - Agteros stays as is!!

Post by Agteros »

After many decisionless years I have made up my mind...Agteros is not going to get the Lexus/diff locks etc.

I attended an off-road course last weekend at the Rhino4x4 track/trial of McCarthy Toyota east of Pretoria and old Agteros made all obstacles appearing to be flat :yahoo: Even in the absence of difflocks Agteros climbed over the obstacles like no new Hilux/Fortuner could with difflocks. The answer - good ground clearance and excellent articulation! And man o man...is'nt that 4Y a jewel in low range :o: :D: Even one of the instructors noted - "As ek vandag tussen al hierdie voertuie moet kies dan kies ek die een....

I am happy with my bakkie as is :celebrate: No itches anymore...

Yep! Good decision! It's what I've said many times before, the 4Y has exceptional low down grunt ...exactly where you need it in the bundu. 2nd, sometimes 1st gear in L4 and you crawl over everything provided you've got the necessary clearances, to which end a good after market suspension kit is a serious plus. ;-)
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.

OK - I think this topic is now "holrug gery".

I've been contemplating for 10 years whether to go Lexus V8 or not.....
Got a guy who came recommended.... still waiting for a quote after 2 months....
Seems to me I have to spend 70-80K (VAT exc.) for a V8. (New guy I came across).
Does not seem feasible to me.
I'm going to wait for the new HiLUX or going LC 79 DC V6.
If I spend 80K on an old vehicle does not make sense? What do you think?

Think I must sell Agteros - too slow and sluggish for my purposes.????? Over capitalising????
