new cruser V8 tyre upgrades
Hi Chaps does any one know what a difference fitting 285/75R16 in place of the standard 265/70/16 to give you slightly longer gearing and to drop the revs hopefully by a few 100 RPM

It will do, many guys do it to get a slightly lower revs, and there was an article in a magazine recently a guy claim it fuel consumption was better.

You can use the differentials from the old 80 series Land Cruiser Think the one with the 3F engine

Re: new cruser V8 tyre upgrades
Is changing the tyres not the same thing, surely the gear ratio to power ratio is calculated according to a certain tyre size and if you change that you interfere with the gear ratio? Under certain conditions you could be putting too much torque on the gears, shafts etc.vidalbum wrote:i dont want to replace diffs and loose the warrenty
I am only asking a question and I am not sure if it is so.

If done through a dealer no issues on warranty we've done two already and both customers are happy
