What's your favourite Camping spot near Cape Town?
I've promised a "stadsjapies" couple that I will introduce them to the camping thing this summer.
I'm thinking that the first trip should perhaps be to a nice site next to the Breede River or something like that.......all romantic and relaxing and all!
Any recommendations??.....and photos..

My absolute gunsteling is De Tronk in die Winterhoek berge ander kant Porterville. Jy ry oor die Katbakkies pas, en doen 'n relatiewe maklike 4x4 trip om daar uit te kom. Jy is heeltemal alleen tussen die berge as jy daar is.

Re: What's your favourite Camping spot near Cape Town?
One of my favourites on the Breede river at Slanghoek, just the other side of the tunnel:
http://www.rivierplaas.co.za/camping.htm
It's not a 4x4 venue, just beautiful, awesome fresh water fishing... oh and seperate ablusions per campsite!
A little further away, I love Jamaka(Ceberberg) and Enjolife(Bidou Vallei).

Re: What's your favourite Camping spot near Cape Town?
Couple of nice places here. Thanks.
I think I'll start with one of the Breede River places first.........
I'm checking out their web sites and it seems like there are a few Cool ones........KamBati and Rivierplaas seems to be lekker for kidz as well.
I've been to Driehoek at Cederberg and will have to go visit some of the other Cederberg Campsites too.

Try this place. I have been a few times. You camp on the edge of the river and have your own bathroom. Call Pieter, this is a very popular campsite and you have to book months in advance.
