What would you like to do in 2014??
So guys and girls, now that we have the "Man power" in Gauteng and a good year behind us with 2 events to go for the year I feel that it is time to start planning for 2014.
The plan is to hold a wider variety of events in 2014 ranging from 4x4 day trips, camping weekends as well as a few meet and greats.
As I did last year with asking which trails you would like to do I am going to do the same this year with one difference. Please not only suggest trails but also suggest family outings as well as anything you feel we should do as a club in 2014.
PLEASE DON’T BE SHY!!!

Re: What would you like to do in 2014??
My 1st suggestions is to have a fun family day at Gold Reef City.
A day trip to the new up and comming "At se gat" trail just other side britz.
Another attempt at 3 provinces
Sometime later in the year a little trip along the Botswana border with the help of Mike (Optirite)

Re: What would you like to do in 2014??
Something we can also look at is the trip up between the Kruger and down on the Moz side.
A Lesotho/Sani Pass outing
Training days!!
Let's start by marking the known events so long - National GTG (once date is confirmed), AAWDC, etc.
Radio programming day?
Ladies days?
As for the monthly outings or local holes - Let's get some new ones on the calender -
I like the idea of At se gat
What else is new - Somewhere on the forum someone mention a new place in the Bronkhorstpruit area - wil go and see if I can find the post.

We can't confirm any dates as yet until we have the Bridgestone 2014 calander as well. Only dat we can confirm will be the National GTG once it has been decided.

Re: What would you like to do in 2014??
How about we do a club challenge day.....
We invite the other 4x4 clubs to a duel...... May the best club (HILUX4X4 ) win...
We could have things like the yanks do... Eg. tug of war on soft sand/Slippery surface, Mud running, as well as an obstical course that works on time and penalties etc.
During that day we could maybe raise some funds for a charity....
We could have a gtg at a dam where its just a bring and braai.....
Maybe we could ask Thunder02 (Neil) if we could organise that at his scout dam.....

Re: What would you like to do in 2014??
as part of the "tech days" , would you guys like to have a basic mechanics shop event to look at basic servicing of vehicles ?
i can try get a couple of guys together that are in the trade and we can run it on a saturday with a braai in a workshop with a sfa , ifs and a vigo ?
would like suggesting on what you would want to have a look at from basic service to brake settings to minor electrical work ?

Re: What would you like to do in 2014??
Part and parcel would be the concept of bush mechanics. What to do if your alternator dies.... you bend a rim, debead a tyre, ingest water in the enige... etc etc. The emergency repairs that would get you home or to the nearest qualified mechanicJEEPIE wrote:as part of the "tech days" , would you guys like to have a basic mechanics shop event to look at basic servicing of vehicles ?

Re: What would you like to do in 2014??
Okay I might be a bit late on this thread, But how about just discussing all of the above at a couple of braai's in and around Gauteng (Westrand) so that newbies can meet up with the blokes in the know and get a better idea as to how things work (not just the vehicles but also the club).
I am keen to get involved and will be trying to get to the RFAD event but it would be nice to be able to meet up prior to the event so that I only stick out like a sore thumb and not a whole tree.

I think one should include Mamili, Moremi and Savuti. Elephant Sand, Hunters Road, Senyati was interesting but if you want to go the bushway Mamili route is the way.
