But I do like the way it looks!!

Re: Rock Sliders
I believe they will be strong enough.
Rocks in Africa and rocks in America are all hard. And if it can carry a Tundra, they will giggle at a Hilux. What gives this design strength in my mind is the fact that it attaches the full length of the chassis, and not just in 3 or 4 positions.

Yes but they used close to 5mm steel. The weight is what worries me..........

Unfortunately strong rock sliders will tend to be heavy. It is a trade off.GeorgeJvR wrote:Yes but they used close to 5mm steel. The weight is what worries me..........

Re: Rock Sliders
What about something like this
Made from 70mm pipe with a 3mm wall, 10mm mounting brackets.
Should be around the 25kgs per slider for the DC.....
Maybe to heavy
Please guys this is just a design i thought of and exact measurements were NOT used......

I know what you mean....
When I removed the running boards and replaced with the Stofpad sliders, I got a lot of moans!
The running boards were a lot lower, and work well as steps (for 5yr olds!) - probably why they get bent!
Good luck with your search!

And this is a pic of how Pieter did his Brackets, I will do something similar.
SE Steel quoted R840 for
1 x 6m round tube 3mm
1 x 6m Square tube 3mm
And scorpion exhaust in Krugersdorp will do the bends for R100 or so
Im very tempted to do mine this weekend if I find the time

Stem saam, minimum 3.

Re: Rock Sliders
Heinrich, Ja daai is stofpad sin.

Re: Rock Sliders
