TRAFFIC FINE RATE

Post by mytruck »

Morning all
Need some advice on this please. Received the ugly white envelope in the mail yesterday - traffic fine, doing between 71-75 in a 60km/h zone. Can remember the day and time, saw the bugger to late, so guilty as charged, however I think the amount they are charging is incorrect. They want R750  for this infringement less 50 % if paid before deadline. Surely this is wrong. If memory serves, it should be R250.00 before discount or not.
Also where can I take this up besides going to court and wasting truck loads of time?
All feedback/advice is appreciated
Regards
Stef

ok, got hold of JMPD and queried this and here's the reason why. The vehicle is registered in a companies name and hence the rate is almost triple. One can fill out forms etc and have the fine re-issued, but this could take for ever as the AARTO website is very very slow and dis-functional.
So now you know for the future

:taunt:

:shh: :shh: MOENIE BETAAL NIE MANNE!!!!!!

Speed kills, don't speed, don't get fines.
