Ekstra petrol tank
Ek het 'n SFA en wil graag weet of iemand dit al oorweeg het om petrol tanks onder die "wheel arches" in te bou. Het na die moontlikheid gekyk en gevind jy kan omtrent 60-70 liter daar inkry. Die agter wiele word gestop deur die rubbers bo die bladvere so dit beweeg nie so hoog op nie. Verbind die twee tanks met 'n pyp tussen die loud bin en cab wat dan weer aan die inlaat pype van die bestaande tank gekoppel word. Sit dan 'n filler cap aan die bokant van die wheel arche aan een kant buite naby die bestaande cap.

Ek dink as jy goed beplan sal dit kan werk, onthou net dat jy n risiko loop as jy op die wheelarches gestamp word in n ongeluk. Weet nie of jou Hilux petrol of diesel is nie. As dit petrol is sal ek dit nie doen as dit myne was nie.

Ek het in gedagte om 'n kraan langs my sitplek van onder af in te sit sodat net die handvatsel in die cab is.Die pyp sal dan van die 2x L/R tanks loop tot by die kraan en dan terug na die hoof tank. As die hooftank amper leeg is word die kraan oop gemaak sodat dit in die hoof tank inloop.

Hi Chriss.
Make sure whoever builds it that its not going to interfere
with the suspension.You got at least be able to take the shocks out
If its too close to the shock mounting the bolt can't come out
and then its a mission to change shocks!

Rather than fitting a seperate extra tank, have your existing tank extended over the prop-shaft and lower the exhaust in that area. Should give you an extra 50 litres or so.
