Does anybody have any comments about this.
From what I read, it can be easily made at home for as little as R1 / liter and makes you diesel engine run smoother - although it may smell like old fish and chips if you get your waste vegetable oil from you local fish and chips shop :D

Apparently the inventor of Diesel engine, Rudolph Diesel, designed the thing to run on peanut oil. But his death and politics (politics prob ahd something to do with his death), his dream became the fossil-based diesel nightmare.

Why not is my question. SARS even allows you create less than 25 000 liters tax free.

I checked this site, but this oke is selling ready made kits for something like R21 000. I looking for somehting one could build oneself. Point having to buy a kit of that much to save on fuel. WOuld have to drive alot fo kilometers to receover that cost

I know, but click on the link I posted. It is a BD forum, just like this forum, where you can get valuable info from other who are already producing.

Is there not plans on the site you posted for a homemade plant?

I might be mistaken but as far as I know the modern turbo diesel engines can only handle a 30% mixture of BioDiesel.

On the BD site it gives you some nice pics of homemade ones, using a old geyser - like the one in the roof and not your dad :D . Even shows you how to warm the waste oil using a solar box to get rid of excess water.

What is the issue with common rail diesels? Why would they make it non-compatible with BD. It's a conspiracy man. The fatcats in the oil industry got together with the vehicle manufacturers and decided to screw us all. Bet government has some hand in it - the hand that goes to the backpocket.

I might be wrong about the common rails. Just read a post on the BD forum, and there are people that run BD on common rails.
Just posted a question to make sure of this, and to ask if mods need to be made. But I doubt it. 100% BD can be used.
I'll wait for the replies on the forum and let you know.

hip hip hoorai for the oil burners.

apparently the BD has solvent properties. Which means your fuel hoses has to be a certain type to handel BD. anybody know if the 1999+ 3000D needs the hoses replaced?
