It works, but regarding the consumption...... the more horses you have the more feed you need to supply!

My fuel consumption is around 7, but some of my friends are claiming around 8, 9 km per liter. No matter how nice I drive I still get no better than 7. All our friends have the automatic.

What's you km's on the vehicle?
When last did you change air-filter and fuel filter?

My bakkie was for its 130 000km service last week, where filters and oil was changed.

Sorry for all the questions but you did not supply a lot of info in your introduction....
What tyres are you running on?
Do you have a canopy?
Roof Rack?
Intergrated Bumper and so on...!
GPS or Speedo reading?

I have a normal canopy, I dont think it will make a really big difference?
Bf Goodridge tyres, 31X10.5, 15 inch rims, futher the bakkie is standard.
I want to install a snorkel, rock gliders, and then maybe the uni chip.
DO you think when you are driving with cruise control on, you will get better fuel consumption?
Thanks

Re: Uni chip for a 2006 toyota hilux 4l v6 auto 4x4.
Hi Braam Welkom
Jy gaan meer as net Uni Chip nodig het as jy 'n V6 4x4 wil lig maak op brand stof.
Ek het Uni Chip laat insit vir dieselfde rede "om brandstof te bespaar" no change on that!!! Moet se hy trek baie lekker en die chip maak 'n verskil as jy groter bande ens begin opsit. Jy voel die verskil as jy berg passe begin aanpak
Ek ry baie met die cruise control en ek dink dit sal 'n verskil maak as jy 'n lekker stil lang pad ry, hier by ons is daar teveel voertuie op die pad en jy moet kort-kort briek trap.

Hi Fred, dankie man.

Braam
Ek handhaaf dan so 7.3 km per liter.

Dankie Petou, so jy sal die uni chip aanbeveel??

Re: Uni chip for a 2006 toyota hilux 4l v6 auto 4x4.
My spoed deurgans was ongeveer 115km/h.

Ouens, ek kry selde meer as 6 km/l. 31" BFG AT's, fibreglass canopy en long range tank.

Re: Uni chip for a 2006 toyota hilux 4l v6 auto 4x4.
Hi Braam,
I've did the Uni Chip from Dastek to get a bit more KW after my V6's suspension lift. It did'nt really do the trick for me, so I've fitted a TNT Exhaust with branches (got rid of the Cat's).
The fuel consumption went up from 5km/l to 6km/l (taken into account I've got a 2" suspension lift plus 2" body lift, running 33"x12,5" wide Tekkies and ONCA bars on) overall consumption - Towing my boat included.
At a 130 000km's you can be almost sure the Cat's will be blocked, so if I'm you..... that will be my first move.... get rid of them........ I don't know if they will be able to re-map the standard Hilux mapping system after they remove the Cat's, so maybe it's best to do it with the Uni Chip so that they can remap it.
Hope this help.........
Regards
Albert

Re: Uni chip for a 2006 toyota hilux 4l v6 auto 4x4.
The unichip can be re-tuned at a later stage. So if funds are limited just do the chip for now but the best results are with a decat and freeflow exhaust. I'd be weary of fitting a K&N or other high flow air filter when using the vehicle in offroad conditions.
