Yip, only one hole to cut. It will end up looking like Simon's Marlin Crawler mod below, 243217686b44901ef33f8e3ed6eec6a7706b5f0959885577c0c43b6c.jpg You can just put 4.7:1 gears in the existing transfer box, which is much cheaper, but then you have normal H4, or very slow L4, no intermediate ratios...

Eric, I have only found it at one Midas outlet in PE. (Algoa Midas in Commercial road). It is quite hard to find, unless you get 4 friends together and by a box of 4 x 5 liters from the local Caltex distributer. 20 liters is their minimum sales quantity.
I think I paid about R 220 for 5 liters.

I'm running Caltex Delo 400 15-40W. This is a Diesel/Petrol dual purpose oil with high levels of anti-scuff additives (which a lot of the newer, high spec petrol engine oils do not have due to emissions reasons).
The engine runs quieter and smoother since I changed to this.

SFA is a capable system on 4x4 vehicles for getting wherever you need to go.
1957 - People use these tough, reliable vehicles and are thrilled with them.
2007 - People ask what is SFA?, and drive their 4x4's to Woolworths. (A small Hilux community still smiles )

After adjusting the brake balance on my Lux today I was wondering how the LSPV looked inside and worked. So, I stripped my spare one  It's off an '87 DC. It was full of greasy muck in some places, but otherwise very clean inside. I'm surprised after 22 years. 1987 Hilux YN67 LSPV stripped.JPG

R30k for ARB is a bit harsh. Inflation must have been higher than reported in the last 4 years
