:shh: Ek het afgekom op n' 3Y engine met n' turbo conversion op wat glo deur toyota gedoen is. Ek soek meer inligting rondom die conversion en wil weet of ek dit net so op my 4Y engine kan oorbou?

Die conversion sal net so pas.
Dis nie n Toyota conversion nie, maar jy kon n nuwe bakkie bestel met n "Alpine turbo" conversion.
Hulle bestaan nog, maar het nie meer parte soos exhaust manifolds(wat gereeld kraak) beskikbaar nie.
Die turbo conversion gee tot 120 KW afhangende van hoe jy hom opset, maar die brandstofverbruik was sy grootste probleem, 3 tot 5 km/l, gewwonlik nader aan 3.

Was dit die brandstof verbruik in die 4x4 bakkie gewees?Ek wil n lae ratio diff 4.2 : 1 of so in my bakkie wat 4x2 is sit , sal dit die brandstof verbruik verbeter of nie? Ek dink die bakkie het nou n 5.2 : 1 in.

Die ouens is seker al gatvol vir my en my 2JZ GE maar ek sê jou jy kan nie verkeerd gaan nie. My broer het nou nog so conversion met n L6 gedoen op n 4x2 vir hom self en dit is n puik werksbakkie en die ding is so sterk soos n bees. Ek my boet en sy pal het in ons 4x4's sulke engine's en kan glad nie kla nie. Hy het ook vir n paar ander manne sulke conversions gedoen en hulle is net so happy.
Hy het net nie meer so baie tyd vir dit nie agv werksverpligtinge.
Jy kan vir Engel hier op die forum vra wat dink hy van die conversion met die L6 engine, en hy is nie eers n Toyota fan nie. Daar is altyd baie polletiek oor watter engine en management system. Ons het nou al baie gespeel met turbo motors, petrol en diesel maar as ek kan kies bly ek by n N/A engine. Wat wil jy doen met die bakkie is die groot vraag. Volgens my is n turbo motor n pyn in die gat as jy hulle nie ken nie en jy kan enige ou wat met motor speel vra dit kos baie geld en frustrasie om hulle te leer ken.
Die 2JZ GE motor is n Lexus GS 300 3.0L inline 6, hulle het hulle self al oor en oor bewys en ons het al die pynne klaar uitgesort. Die groot ding van conversions is dat dit geld kos want soos die D in TRD staan vir development beteken dit skoolgeld vir ons gewone ouens, maar ons het dit ook al betaal. Die 2JZ GE motor is bullet proof en vrek sterk, as jy nie n 4x4 gearbox gebruik nie sal jy skrik as jy die performance voel en die brandstof verbruik is ook nie te dronk nie, tussen 8 en 10 km/l maar dit hang af wie die bakkie map en van hoe swaar jou voet is.
Hier is n foto toe hy nog besig was met hom, hoop nie hy gee om dat ek die foto pos nie, hy mag nie wees nie dit is sy verjaardag vandag.. :lol:

Jong dit is maar aan die duur kant, ek so ± R75K in gesit. En ek voel dit was die moeite werd gewees

n 4.11 diff sal goed werk, of selfs n 3.77 nog beter, dan sal jy seker so 7km/l kry as jy mooi ry.

2jz, "horses for courses", om daai tipe geld op n bakkie wat nog nie 40k werd is nie maak nie altyd sin nie.

Ons het al n crank nodig gehad vir n 2jz, dis onbetaalbaar duur by toyota en as jy hom self invoer is daar weer ander risikos en tyd betrokke.

Die huidige markwaarde van n 2wd hilux wat 27 jaar oud is, is minder as R 40 000.00
Dit maak nie altyd sin om R70 000.00 op so n voertuig te spandeer nie, want soos jy weet stoot n conversion nie noodwendig die markwaarde op nie, jy doen dit vir jou eie plesier.
Die Y Turbo roete gaan hom nog nie R15000.00 kos nie en dit sal ook baie plesier verskaf.

Ek kan self ook nie praat nie, my '88 hilux het al sy sewende conversion in, het al seker R300 000 00 op hom in 7 jaar gespandeer en ek dink ek het genoeg plesier uit hom gehaal al sal ek nooit eers n kwart van daai geld terugkry nie.

Goeie en geldige argumente - amper soos die geld wat ons somtyds op ons wederhelftes spandeer en dan ........ (nee, veiliger om dit daar te los!)
Dit sal lekker wees om algemene advies/riglyne vir blougatte (newbies) soos ek beskikbaar te maak itv "must haves, should haves and nice to haves" alhoewel elke man se behoeftes en voorkeure verskil; so ook ons begrotings
Wat is bv nodig om 'n standaard SFA se funksionaliteit te verbeter sonder om eenvoud en betroubaarheid in te boet - electronic ignition, EFI, wat nog? Wat van die onderstel?

Dit was die 1ste prioriteit - gebruik 'n tyd lank reeds 'n "well-worn" Minus40 wat sy kant gebring het in veral "hot & high" toestande agter op 'n Cruiser P/U in Moz en verlede week 'n mooi D/K Luna by 'n Forum-lid van KZN oorgeneem. Klaar getoets en ywerig om die pad (en Moz) aan te vat daarmee!
