Suid-Wes Trip Planning
Hi guys
Who has done the Suid Wes 4x4 trip? I need to plan that trip and don’t have any info yet, been there with SAW & seuns in 88. Can someone help with this I believe there is a registered trail for 4x4’s from the bottom to the top across the Caprivi over to Vic fall’s and drop down through Botswana back to Jo-burg . How long do you need because I only have 18 days to do it, then I am back in Saudi.

Re: Suid-Wes Trip Planning
Hi Jaco,
In 18 days you can experience a part of Namibia, definitely not all. The Caprivi strip doesn't have an "official" 4x4 trial, but there are many places where you can enjoy your 4x4. But the best place to enquire are the various forums you can access from overland.co.za. Kaokoland is also an option to consider.
National parks/camps/destinations you can consider are (in no particular order): Mamili (swamp), Mudumo, Kaudom (sand), Nambwa, Etosha (expensive) etc.
Cheers,
Chris

Re: Suid-Wes Trip Planning
Ons het hierdie trip gedoen in '06. Idee was om van die pad af te bly (wel, sodra jy in noordelike helfte kom..) Ons het baie in rivierlope gery en dit was 'n fantastiese trip. Ek hoop ek kan my T4 roete aangeheg kry.. Nee, dit sê :The extension gdb is not allowed. Send me your email detail and I will send the file to you.. Enjoy!

You're in good company - the forum was only "born" 17 May 2007!
Now... about those pics...
