Thanks Eric but we seemed to have sorted the problem. I picked up the power from cables inside the cab on the first installation. Although these wires could supply enough current and voltage, it seemed like it introduced some sort of electric noise on the unit. Saturday morning I quickly ran a pair of wires directly from the battery and voila!!!Family_Dog wrote:Cassie, I wonder if your antenna and/or cable & connector is not giving problems? * Swap your microphone with another GX300 for a test
* Swap the radio complete with another one for a test?

SO... I ripped that wires out again yesterday (no fuse on the line) and will be installing a nice pair wires (fused) to the radio.
Next step is to come and see you bout a VHF radio
