Very nice Niel, and thanks for the link, did you camp or stay in the provided accommodation? I'm thinking of doing that trip sometime this year but not sure when is the best time to do it. I would like to drive there from Gauteng.

We stayed in the formal accommodation (self catering) and apart from the mozzies it was awesome. Tiger fishing.....The one thing you need to remember in the rain season is that you can only get there by boat, after that only by 4x4 and when it is dry with a 2x4 (we got stuck in a 2x4 without diff lock). O ja be very aware of the crocks and they are not scared either - they took the owners Rottweiler.
The camping is also in a very nice spot

Many thanks Niel, sounds lekker, but with crocs around maybe better to go the formal accommodation route and possibly in the dry season.

Does anyone know if they have power 24hrs a day? I was there December 07, very nice place but we were told they have power all day, but was disjointed to find they were running on a generator only running for 4 hours a day.

Hi, I stayed over at Kalizo on a previous trip. We camped there for a couple of days. Hardly any shade - we virtually fried out. We did not find it that great. If you really want a fantastic place to camp, I suggest you try Namwi. Namwi and Kalizo are firtually neighbours. The camp is fantastic, well shaded and have 220v power. Prices were also very reasonable.

Johan, thanks for the feedback, There was lots of big trees in the camping area a few years back- they must have either chopped it off or the floods must have nicked it. I will see if I can get som old pics and scan it in.
