Have we any zooologists?

Post by Irishman »

While doing some duning at Trekos a strange animal crossed my path. It was the size of a collie dog, short legs, looked like a rat, grey fur, and a long tail with a black tuft on the end. I have searched google to no avail. Before the funny guys get a hold of this post. It was 11 a.m. and I had not partaken of any alcohol or hallucinating drugs.

Sounds like what we cal in Afrikaans - 'n Suid-siberiese-grys-muis. Did it make any noises as it crossed your path?

Hi Johan, I think it farted, or maybe that was me
I think it might have been a Cape Mole Rat, but I can't find any photos of it. I'll have to go and ride up and down the road into Trekos, camera at the ready, before anyone believes me.

The one I'm talking about normally sounds like "Yellow" when it crosses your path. Haven't heard one fart yet!

Don't know what size is a collie dog but in the area it could be a mouse dog or a mole. Sorry asked around but I do not know what a "muishond" is in Inglish

Thys, a Meerkat is a Meerkat in any language. those are the little guys that sit up on their haunches and watch you. A muishond is a mongoose.
Cassie your photo was the closes't so far, but the thing I saw didn't have a highlift conversion, he was close to the ground, and his tail appeared to be hairless, with this very distinct tuft on the end.
