Hi guys,

After two years of owning my 3.0 D4D and after alot of research I've decided to go with a Dastek Unichip that I'm buying used from a recently widowed lady.

I have previously used Racechip on my previous car (MK6 GTI & F30 328i) which were easy plug & play units which alot of installation guides available.

However I see the Unichip has wires that need to be connected somewhere but I can't find any installation guides anywhere.

Please assist.

Anda, unlike the Racechip that is a plug-and-play chip, the Unichip needs to be configured for your specific vehicle. It needs to be installed by a registered installer that have Unichip software to configure it for your vehicle. So, even if the unit that you bough is for the same vehicle as yours, it still needs be configured for the differences between the vehicles.
One of the units will be the Unichip driver module and the other a module with drivers specific for your vehicle and model. The loom will also have to be specific to the vehicle.

Why don't you go the Dastek in Pretoria to have it installed? They manufacture the Unichip.

Thank you so much for the feedback and info.

I'll contact them to see if there's dealer close to Benoni.

Easy to install and remove as it plugs in behind the cubby into the ECU, however, I agree with the above that the chip is to be configured to your vehicle preferably by SAC/Dastek
