Engine Oil in No.3 Spark Plug Well

Good day Hiluxers! Got the shock of my life when I pulled my plug leads to clean my Hilux 2700i tappet cover(3RZ-FE) !!
There was a considerable amount of oil in the No. 3 spark plug well. I understand the likely cause is the seals on tappet cover or O-rings on the spark plug wells?
Is this doable to do as DIY, or rather take to a workshop. The old girl is touching on 600 000 km
Hope to hear some input from the Hilux experts
Regards
Peter

Yes very doable, did my 2700i about 2 years after also finding oil in No 3 plug well, each plug well has a round seal in the tappet cover.
I changed each seal as well as the tappet cover gasket.
While you have the tappet cover off check the valve clearance, on mine with half the mileage that yours has, I found on No 4 intake both valve clearance were slightly below the minimum clearance.
I had to order the correct shims from Toyota, you do need a special tool to remove the shims.

Much obliged!
Yes that would make sense to check, seeing the tappet cover is off.
