Hi hi,

My name is Mercury and I'm new to the forum, so first off thanks for having me. I live in the US and I drive a 1999 Hilux Surf, 2.4 turbo. This is a very uncommon truck here. The bad news is that certain parts are hard to find. So i'm hoping someone could point me in right direction.

My glow plug relay (# 28610-54310) has gone bad. I'm having a very hard time finding a replacement for it anywhere online. I'm wondering if it's just google keeping my searches within the US. Any help would be greatly appreciated

- M

Welcome aboard!

You could try one of these guys ...

If the worst comes to the worst, you could use another make / model relay that has similar values and timing ... or otherwise even bypass the original relay with a simple heavy duty relay activated with a push-button fitted into the dash. Most diesels will start anyway without heating the glow-plugs, except on cold days and cold mornings. I would imagine that you would need to use them in Connecticut where you are, especially in winter.

Good luck. :winkx:

Yeah it can get pretty cold up here...
60 degrees(Fahrenheit) and above it starts fine, despite faulty relay. The colder it gets the harder it is to start.

thanks for the great advice, really appreciate it.
