I have just had a Ford V6 conversion done on my 1992 Hilux 4x4 double Cab. The rev counter runs at 4000 RPM when doing 80 and 4500 at 90. How can the counter be modified to reflect the correct RPM?

Hallo Pierre.
It seems that your revs are almost double of what it should be.
Have a look at the signal you are sending to the rev counter. It might be doubled.
Sorry for explaining so badly not an auto electrician.
Then on this forum there are posts on how to change revcounter from diesel to petrol and vice versa. Have a look at them as well..

Your rev counter is calibrated to read 4 pulses per revolution... as per 4 cylinder engine.. The V6 is sending 6 pulses per revolution.. There in lies the rub. You need to make some modifications to the rev counter. I cannot remember how the guys fixed it.. Speak to Allan Venter.. 0721291160

4x4 direct has a unit that will rectify the input to output.
