4.0 V6 Fuel Gauge stuck

Post by GTO »

My father's 2012 Fortuner 4.0 V6 fuel gauge seems stuck at 3/4 it has an extra fuel tank.

Any idea what the fault is?

Unlikely that the sender unit in the tank has failed (being only a 2012 model), the extra tank will not affect it other than it requiring more fuel to move the float (extra volume).

More than likely the fault is in the cluster itself, not an uncommon problem with the later models. There are some threads here where the guys have had the cluster repaired rather than replaced.
When your road comes to an end ...... you need a HILUX!.
