Re: GD6 GPS
Anyone installed a GPS on their GD6's? Stealers charge me R11k!

Re: Re: GD6 GPS
That is definitely not worth the R11k they are asking. I got the GPS with the Dakar and it is nothing to write home about. The interface is clunky and the maps are not up to date. The route that I take home everyday that has been in existence for more than 15 years is not accepted by the GPS. It wants me to take another route adding 20+ kilometers to the drive. I can also not see that it will work off-road. I still intend to do some research and see if another GPS app will run on the radio. I know it is made by Panasonic.
If you get a head unit that supports apple play or android (Something like Android Auto) for screen mirroring from your phone you are much better off using the phone's navigation such as Waze or even Google Maps as it is more up to date and has a familiar interface and then not spend extra money on the built in/supplied GPS software that is never that good. The only exception is if the head unit supports Tom or Garmin.

I actually wanted to say that for R11k you can get a bloody nice after market head unit.
