Don't really know the vehicles that well other than that they were tough as nails and that the rear hatch tended to rattle a bit as they got older. Can't tell you anything about the motor except that by all accounts they were very reliable but thirsty and under powered. Slow on the open road and hills, but great in the bush. Would make a nice toy if that's what you're looking for.

They tend to rust above the gutters. If you can see that it has been resprayed, focus on that area. The whole area, from front to back on the sides , just above the gutter.
One of the 60 models are prone to develop a loose crank pulley, but I think it is the 2F, not sure.
Otherwise I do not know of much that can go wrong.
